Your First Class…

How To Prepare

  1. Please arrive 15 minutes early. This will give you time to meet your instructor, ask questions, and get settled in the room before class.
  2. Hydration is important so drink plenty of water before your class. It is equally important to drink water after class. You will be sweating! Water intake will help your body more efficiently replenish the fluid lost during class.
yoga is best done on an empty stomach so avoid eating 2 hours before class. If you must eat, please eat something that is easily digested.
  3. It takes time to learn the postures and get used to the heat. Take your time and enjoy the experience. Remember that a consistent practice is important. Over time your body will become accustomed to the heat and your muscles and joints will gain flexibility.
  4. Take a break. If you feel yourself getting out of breath or too warm lay down and focus on slowing your breath.
  • A Yoga Mat – If you have one. If not, you can rent one at the studio for $2, or buy one at our studio boutique.
  • Yoga Mat towel and shower towel – We recommend mat towels during our hot classes. You put it over your mat so you don’t slip or you can just bring a simple hand towel. If you plan to shower after class we recommend bringing a shower towel. We offer yoga mats, mat towels and shower towels you can rent at the front desk.
  • Water – We offer a filtered water system at our studio to refill your water bottle or you can buy water bottles at our front desk. Try to be well hydrated before coming to class (if you are prone to headaches we recommend adding electrolytes to your water to sip on throughout class)
  • Wear light, comfortable clothing that is breathable and will not restrict your movement. We recommend NOT wearing cotton. NO SHOES in the rooms so please make sure to take your shoes off in the lobby.
  • If you did not register online and created a Mindbody account and doing a walk-in you must bring a Valid ID when registering in-studio.

What to Bring

Studio Etiquette

  • NO SHOES – When you arrive remove your shoes and leave them in the cubbyholes in the lobby or carry them to the locker rooms
  • NO CELLPHONES – Disconnect! Turn your phones off and leave out of the yoga rooms. Important calls can be made outside.
  • BE SCENT FREE – To respect a shared environment, avoid heavy body odor and aim to go scent free
  • NO LATECOMERS – Arrive on time. 5-10 minutes before class to give you enough time to settle in. Doors are locked once class starts
  • SILENCE – Observe silence in the yoga rooms. Please no talking. Feel free to chat quietly in the lobby before or after class.
  • QUICK SHOWERS – Out of respect for the earth (& your fellow yogis), please be mindful of the time you spend rinsing off. Keep showers short & sweet!
  • RESPECT TEACHERS – Move with the instructions. Modifications are OK. If you wish to do your own moves, set your mat in the back of the room to avoid distractions
  • KEEP DOOR CLOSED – Keep the door closed when entering & exiting to keep the heat in. Try not to leave mid-class unless you need to.

Respect yourself and others. This is a Sacred space we share.
