Katy Hoogendam

I started practicing Bikram yoga (26&2) in February of 2017 in hopes to heal myself from lifelong juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, a chronic, progressive, debilitating and destructive autoimmune disease, and chronic pain. The more I practiced hot yoga, the better I felt. The better I felt, the more I fell in love with the practice; it soon became my passion and my medicine. Now my symptoms are no longer controlled by drugs, but through a whole foods, low fat, plant based diet and daily hot yoga practice. Naturally to teach and share this practice came next. In November 2020 I graduated from Esak Garcia’s e84 26&2 teacher training program. It brings me so much joy to share this healing practice with the world and hope to inspire others to not give up on their dreams.
